Our travels around the world continued last weekend, with the Diligent team heading off to Shanghai for Best of British 2018. Staged across four days in the majestic Shanghai Exhibition Centre, the event brought together over 30,000 luxury consumers and 5,000 key trade buyers, all looking to shop the best in British fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

For Diligent, the event was an opportunity to showcase our WeCommerce™ platform. Created in tandem with our Chinese marketing specialist Tong Digital, we built a multi-brand version specially for the Best of British showcase. The WeCommerce™ store allowed a large number of brands–including Brompton, Royal Doulton and Czech and Speake – to sell quickly and easily via WeChat, the Chinese app of choice, without the administrative hassle of establishing a separate Chinese eCommerce site.

With Chinese eCommerce sales on track to make up 59% of all world sales in 2021, it’s safe to say that the demand for British products in China is set to rise. This event was a great way to trial our new WeCommerce™ model, and we can’t wait to start rolling out this service to individual brands!
