Diligent at MODA 2015
This February, Diligent went to Moda, one of UK’s biggest fashion trade fairs.
From 15th to 17th February 2015 at the Birmingham NEC, the event showcased Womenswear, Menswear, Lingerie & Swimwear, Footwear and Accessories from a wide variety of brands featuring names such as Calvin Klein, Falke and Farah 1920 to the exhibition center.
During our time at Moda, we noticed that menswear covered a larger area in comparison to womenswear, indicating its rapid growth in popularity. A growth we at Diligent Commerce support having designed and built Magento ecommerce websites for Moss Bros, Crombie, Evisu and soon to be launched Chester Barrie amongst others.
While there are plenty of networking opportunities and inspiring catwalk shows, Moda also offer seminars, suitable for anyone working in the industry. We took part in the E-Commerce Panel where we discussed the importance of factors such as responsive design, the increasing role of mobile and ecommerce, as well as SEO and time management tips, among many other factors that contribute to creating a successful ecommerce presence.
But the highlight for us was the presentation by Simon, our Managing Director, on the Importance of Design in maximising conversion, a subject dear to our hearts at Diligent. Simon talked about the significance of aesthetics and the importance of a making a great first impression with your ecommerce website. People perceive beautiful products as functioning better (whether they do or not!). A beautiful website performs a similar role. So, as well as conveying a better impression of the brand, a beautiful online store leads to a lower bounce rate and ultimately to more conversions. Simon emphasized the agency’s focus on originality in creating online shops. Think different, as Apple would say. And above all avoid cookie cutter websites. This is core to Diligent’s belief and what helps set us apart as an agency from the others.
